Dr. Paul Boskind, a renowned psychologist and LGBTQ+ advocate, once believed he had life figured out. Diagnosed in his youth with a degenerative eye condition, he refused to let it define him, forging a successful career and vibrant personal life. But fate had other plans, and his vision began to deteriorate sooner than anticipated.
The Blind Man Game is Paul's raw and moving account of confronting the profound loss of sight and the unraveling of his identity. Thrust into an uncertain future, Paul must summon his professional expertise and resilience to grapple with grief, fear, and a world suddenly inaccessible.
This moving memoir is not just about losing sight; it’s about finding resilience. As Paul adapts to his new reality, he finds solace and unwavering support in his chosen family, the friends who become his anchors. Through their love, Paul uncovers new ways to engage with the world, forging an unexpected path toward a life that is rich and fulfilling in its own right.
The Blind Man Game is a powerful reminder that community and inner strength can guide us through even the darkest of times. It teaches us that sight is not the essence of who we are and that even in the face of adversity, we can discover a new way forward.
“An inspiring memoir about internal strength, The Blind Man Game is a story of vision loss and grit.”
